Rooted in Tradition, Playing for the Future
Founded in 1854 at the historic Milton Arms public house, Elsecar Cricket Club has been a cornerstone of South Yorkshire sport for over 170 years. Nestled in the heart of the former model village of Elsecar, our ground—affectionately known as Crab Field—offers a picturesque backdrop overlooking Elsecar Park and the world-famous Heritage Centre.
Elsecar CC is one of the most successful clubs in the region. As founder members of the South Yorkshire Senior League, we have secured:
17 League Titles (A league record)
10 Whitworth Cup Victories
5 Yorkshire Council Championships
2014 Black Sheep Yorkshire Champions (A historic victory over York CC)
We take immense pride in our contribution to the professional game, having seen nine of our players progress to play first-class cricket for Yorkshire CCC, including modern local talent like Jack Shutt.
